Love is a little spookier this time of year. In a new horror short film created for YouTube's #Halloweek, Jake (Wilson Cleveland) must take care of his boyfriend Brian (Hartley Sawyer), who is becoming dangerously unhinged.
This is no average romance, but an homage to other genres, horror chief among them. The 9-minute short cleverly ratchets up the tension between the two men as Brian becomes unhinged. As the climax approaches, you’ll probably realize a twist is coming...but you won’t guess it.
You may remember Hartley Sawyer from Glory Daze, The Young & The Restless, or his stint on the late, lamented GCB. Now he’s starring in the creepy short film Kept Man with Wilson Cleveland (who is also the writer/producer).
Cleveland, perhaps best known as the creator of Leap Year, sees his self-financed short as creative reinvention. It was a chance to “tell a story I wanted to tell in my own words and on my own dime.” With “Kept Man” in the past, he’s now planning a lighter turn. “
